At Glendale fostering scientific temperament in students through myriad ways has been our constant endeavor. The science fair ‘Quest 2013’ which was a roaring success aptly proved the talent and efforts of the students.
125 working models covering extensively all fields of science including Natural Science, Life Science, Environmental and Earth Science etc., all displayed in classrooms and named as Thought Tingler – The Physics room, All- Che-Mystery, Bioskope, Green Breath and Brain Gym.
To encapsulate the ski-experience and tickle the senses the “Earthalone” room lucidly represented the transformation due to Industrialization and excessive use of technology which compelled us to think sustainable development and negative or positive impact of humans on the environment, with students using power point presentation to enhance it.
The Guests were transported on a “Space cruise” to explore the unexplored realm and welcomed by Astronauts and Aliens performing experiments. Exploring the Solar System, visiting Constellations experiencing ‘Walk on the Moon’and the Time Machine was part of this fantasy tour. They theorized the origin of the Universe, the contribution of astronomers over the ages and concluded on Horoscopes for the day. Some of the highlights of the ‘Sci-Fair’, ‘Sci-Scene’ are – Glendale Township using opticalsensors to switch the streetlights off. Safety Fire Evacuator, Piezoelectric Transducers, Nanotechnology, The Hovercraft, Fun Science through Fabric Chromatography. The Chemical Garden, Water rocket, demonstration of Maglev train the list was endless and the portrayal and experiments done were really laudable. He water rocket, The Magnetic magic and demonstration of Hydraulic robot were again very impressive. Working models of the human body and Health Care Centres were really impressive.
Different schools visited the exhibition and were visibly impressed by knowledge, creativity and enthusiasm of the students and their teachers.
